Workers are hoping to gain support on a proposed wind farm project.

WHITESVILLE- -- The Coal River Mountain Watch launched its national campaign Tuesday to educate people about wind-farm power.
The group is using its Web site to get the message to leaders on the county, state and national levels.
The group proposes placing wind-turbines on Coal River Mountain.
Organizers say the wind could produce enough power to provide electricity to 150,000 homes.
The Coal River Mountain Watch says there are already plans for the mountaintop to be strip-mined. It's estimated that over 6,000 acres will be affected.
The group says the wind farm is a viable economic alternative to the mountaintop removal plans. |
