A spooky economy doesn't seem to be scaring customers away from celebrating Halloween this year.
Story by Adam Baker
BECKLEY- -- In the midst of a world financial crisis many companies are struggling.
But not Halloween retailers.
Many are reporting record-breaking sales this season.
The economy isn't stopping trick-or-treaters from buying the perfect costume.
In Raleigh County, Spencer's at the Crossroads Mall is busy.
The store's manager says sales are up at least 50 percent from last year.
The National Retail Federation estimates Americans will spend nearly 6-billion dollars on Halloween this year.
Some analysts credit the fact Halloween falls on Friday this year for the spike in sales.
They say that allows more adults to celebrate.
