Non-perishable food items to help hungry in the area.
By Kate Krivanek
Mt. HOPE -- A church in Fayette County is starting a new Valentine's Day tradition. The Kilsyth Freewill Baptist Church held a food drive today.
Church members say there are people going hungry in southern West Virginia year round.
Members are asking for donations of canned and non-perishable food items.
The donations will be offered to those in need through the church's food bank.
Kilsyth Church helps feed more than 50 families each month.
They also regularly host a soup kitchen for the community. The next one is scheduled for next Saturday, February 21. Anyone in need of a hot meal is encouraged to stop by.
