Democrat Evan Jenkins wants to require cities to prove user fee money goes to its intended purpose.
HUNTINGTON -- It's looking increasingly likely that Huntington's user fee will soon jump by 50 percent from $2 to $3 per week - and the State Senator serving Cabell County says he wants to make sure that if it does, the money actually goes where city officials claim it will.
According to published reports - Democrat Evan Jenkins plans to introduce a bill that would require cities with user fees to enact ordinances specifically stating how such funds will be used.
They would also be forced to place the money into a special account, so that its usage could be more easily tracked.
