The students are trying to raise money to fight cancer.

Story by Alicia Suka

ATHENS- -- Concord University students are painting the campus purple.

There are purple balloons and streamers, signs, even some students are painting themselves purple.

For a donation, one student, posing as a statue, would change positions. It's just one of several fundraisers the university's Relay for Life team has been doing this week.

They're working to generate both awareness about cancer and team members for the annual Relay for Life event.

Concord University will host its Relay for Life on Saturday, April 25.

All of the money raised will be contributed to a fund to pay for cancer research.
