A complaint has been filed in federal court.

LEWISBURG- -- Another legal hurdle for a proposed wind farm in Greenbrier County.

The Animal Wefare Institute and Mountain Communities for Responsible Energy have filed a complaint in federal court in Maryland against the wind farm.

The two groups say the 124-turbine farm would harm the endangered Indiana bat which lives in the western part of Greenbrier County and violate the Federal Endangered Species Act.

In April, Beech Ridge Energy received state approval to build the wind farm near Rupert.

If anyone wants to see how obtrusive and ugly wind farms can be go to Mount Storm Lake, or Davis, WV, or Bear Rocks on Dolly Sods. What started with a handful in now hundreds of them. Why not build these ugly things off shore where no one has to look at them? I'm all for renewable energy just don't ruin my mountain views to supply power for the people of other states, like Virginia.
