SUMMERS COUNTY -- Two people are pronounced dead at the scene of a head on collision in Summers County. Deputy Chellis with the Summers County Sheriff's Department says the accident happened around noon Sunday, July 26.

The accident involved two cars traveling on Route 20 in the Elton Area.

21 year old, Joseph Randell Henthorn of Ronceverte and his passenger, 21 year old, Belinda Lee McClung of Rainelle were killed.

The name of the driver of the other vehicle is not being released. The 76 year old man is from Meadow Bridge. He was transported to the hospital with only minor injuries.

The Summers County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

Deputy Chellis says speed was a contributing factor.

I knew Belinda personally and her family (her older sister, Barbara McClung, is one of my best friends) . I wish her and her family the best and all the blessings in the world. My deepest sympathy goes out to Belinda's family.
