Scott Burgess is accused of murder and arson.

POWELLTON -- A Fayette County man is behind bars, charged in connection with a murder. According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, Scott Boyd Burgess, 44 of Powellton, was arrested Friday night around 10:00.

Police say Burgess is accused of setting fire to a home, killing Kenneth Edward Pritt, 30 also of Powellton, last month.

Officer say Burgess now faces charges of murder and first degree arson.

Burgess is being held in the Southern Regional Jail, pending arraignment.
