BRADSHAW- -- Over 200 McDowell County elementary students hit the halls of a brand new school, Monday.
After 5 years of work, Bradshaw Elementary School has been re-constructed.
And for many of them this is the first school they're calling their own.
The old Bradshaw Elementary school was demolished 4 years ago.
It was located along a flood zone.
Students spent the past 5 years in modular units while this new school was built.
Now students and faculty are ecstatic about having space to spread out.
"They actually walked into their own classroom and found their own desk and the lockers. They were just thrilled. And they said we can't believe we're really here. It was really something to see their little faces," said Stella Addair, teacher. [ This new school houses multiple computer labs, plasma screen TV's in classrooms, a gym, and a library.
