Summers County Man Arrested for Impersonating a DNR Officer

Matthew Reed is being held in the Southern Regional Jail

HINTON -- A Summers County man is in hot water for allegedly impersonating a DNR officer.

Police say 32-year-old Matthew Don Reed of Hinton was pretending to be a DNR officer and trying to hire people.

He also reportedly mailed a letter in which he represented himself as Governor Joe Manchin.

Reed is charged with impersonating a public official, impersonating a DNR officer and forging and uttering in a public document.

He's being held in the Southern Regional Jail. Bond was set at $10,000.
