Herndon -- Three people are facing charges after a shooting in Wyoming County. Sheriff's deputies say 21-year-old Chester Mills of Black Eagle was shot one time outside of a residence on Pigeon Hill Road in Herndon. The shooting happened at around 6:15 Sunday morning.
Jeffrey Haynes, 30, of Rocky Gap, Va., is charged with attempted murder. Deputies say he shot Mills after an altercation at the residence. He fled the scene and deputies caught up with him a couple hours later along Route 10 in Bud.
Deputies also arrested 28-year-old William Richardson and his wife 32-year-old Rebecca Richardson of Rocky Gap on the scene for obstructing officers.
Mills was transported to Raleigh General Hospital for treatment. Haynes is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
