People with disabilities shared networking opportunities.

By Kate Krivanek

MERCER COUNTY --  Some local agencies are teaming up to promote disability awareness in the community.

Wednesday, Oct. 21 the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services in Princeton got together with eight other organizations to showcase employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

It's all part of a celebration for National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

"We want to make people more aware of the importance of people with disabilities in our community. People with disabilities are some of the best workers that we have in our community, and this helps people become aware of that," said Melody Cochran with the USDA Forest Service.

The Mercer Mall was the backdrop for this networking event.

The days activities included workshops, exhibits, and presentations.
