McDowell Man Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges

Deputies said the arrest came after a week-long investigation.

CARETTA -- The McDowell County Sheriff's Department arrested Jimmy Lester, 26, of Caretta Thursday night.

Lester is charged with attempted sexual assault, sexual abuse and endangerment of public safety.

Deputies said Lester has been contacting a juvenile through text messages with the intent of meeting up with the juvenile.

Lester is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
