Car Pursuit in Greenbrier County Ends in a Crash

The accident happened Thursday night near Maxwelton.

LEWISBURG -- A Massachusetts couple is behind bars after leading police on a pursuit Thursday night.

Jason Delaney, 28, and Pamela Zygmont, 25, were arrested after fleeing from police.

Greenbrier County Sheriff's Deputies said they attempted to pull over the couple along Interstate 64, but the driver sped off toward Route 219.

The vehicle crashed at Maxwelton near the Vago Road intersection. Delaney reportedly fled on foot from the scene, but was shortly apprehened.

Delaney and Zygmont were transported to the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.

Lewisburg Police Chief Tim Stover said Delaney was a wanted armed robbery suspect. Delaney is charged with being a fugitive from justice for parole violations and armed robbery. Zygmont is charged with reckless driving and fleeing from police.

The couple is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
