RUPERT --  Police are looking for leads in a Greenbrier County shooting.

According to Sheriff's deputies, Travis Wickline, 21, of Rupert was shot in his backyard Monday night. Officers said Wickline told them he was taking his dogs out near the woods in his backyard when he was shot once in the forearm.

Wickline reportedly ran back toward his home to call police, as several other shots rang out.

Police said this happened on 4th Street in Rupert just before 6 p.m. Monday night. Wickline was shot with a small caliber gun.

He was transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police are urging anyone with information to call them. They are trying to determine if he was the target of the shooting or if he was struck accidentally by a hunter.
