Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine hosted emergency response training.

BECKLEY -- A missing person draws the attention of a multi-agency task force in Raleigh County.

Tuesday, various first responders worked side by side in a mock disaster at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine. Members of the Beckley Fire Department, JanCare, the Department of Environmental Protection and West Virginia Civil Support Team participated in some emergency response training

"This gives us an opportunity, less stressful, to get to know each other. And once you know your capabilities, once you're able to work together and smooth out all the wrinkles, on the training ground's the time to smooth them out and not during a real incident," said Beckley Fire Department Captain Billie Trump.

Threat Preparedness, a West Virginia based company that specializes in missing person searches and anti-terrorism training, organized todays training session.
