BECKLEY -- Nearly $10,000 in grant money has been awarded to Raleigh County Schools.
Members of the Beckley Area Foundation presented the awards at the Board of Education Meeting.
The "Students First" grants serve as funding for new innovative programs initiated by teachers.
"Students learn on all levels and they have all types of learning styles. We have to reach those styles to make them productive citizens," said Linda Polly, co-chairwoman.
This is the 13th year the Beckley Area Foundation has given out these grants. In that time span, more than $100,000 has been awarded.
