WELCH --  People lined up and cheered for the annual Veteran' Day Parade in McDowell County. This year marked the 90th anniversary of the parade.

The tradition is long and storied for the city of Welch parade. In the early 1960s President John F. Kennedy even took part in the event.

For locals though, it’s truly the veterans that attract all the attention.

“I love the veterans, I love them, and now I get to stand and watch them,” said Jennifer Phillips, an onlooker.
