The Bluefield, Virginia Fire Department responded to the house fire on Big Branch Road late Friday night. Firefighters said two people were in the home.

A male died in the fire, a female suffered burns, but did not require medical treatment. Tazewell County Sheriff's deputies and Virginia State Police said there is nothing suspicious about the fire. A wood burning stove is said to have been the cause.

The victim's name hasn't been released.
