FAIRLEA --  Greenbrier County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an early morning armed robbery.

It happened at around 5 a.m. Nov. 24 at the Best Value Inn on Fair Street in Fairlea.

Deputies said the suspect went into the motel armed with a knife, demanded money and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male who was last seen wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt. He is about 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Deputies said he covered his face with a cloth.

"The community could be very helpful with us in this in regards to anyone traveling in the area who may have noticed anyone matching that description walking in the area of 219 North or 219 South," said Sgt. David Hinkley with the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department.

State Troopers and Sheriff's Deputies are working with Lewisburg and Ronceverte City Officers to investigate the armed robbery.

Anyone with information should contact police.
