Marshall holds off a second half surge to win.
By Jared Fialko
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- For a 10 minute stretch, it looked as if Marshall's road woes were rearing their ugly head again.
A 21-point Herd advantage shrunk to only three midway through the second half against Binghamton.
Donnie Jones' crew did not allow the Bearcats to get any closer though.
The Herd held on for a 69-55 victory in New York to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Tyler Wilkerson led the way with 19 points.
Freshman sensation Hassan Whiteside also chipped in with 12 points and five blocks off the bench.
Three-point specialist Chris Lutz found his stride, hitting a trio of triples in the first half.
Lutz finished the evening with 11 points.
Marshall returns to action Dec. 12 at the Cam Henderson Center against Troy.
