The Red Cross has opened a shelter in Quinwood.

QUINWOOD -- An emergency shelter has opened at the Quinwood United Methodist Church in Greenbrier County.

The Greenbrier County Chapter of the American Red Cross opened the shelter Thursday afternoon.

"We'll keep the shelter open tonight and give folks a hot meal, too." said Walter Lockhart with the Red Cross.

He added that the shelter will be open on Friday, if there is still a need.

There are more than 400 people without power in Greenbrier County with temperatures expected to drop into the teens overnight.
