SHADY SPRING -- Road conditions in West Virginia are improving after the weekend storm.
The Division of Highways reported that the Interstates are mostly clear with some snow and ice in spots. Some primary roads Raleigh County are still covered with snow and ice. Snow and ice-covered secondary roads remain a major issue throughout most of southern West Virginia.
"My road is terrible," said Terry Williams of Shady Spring. "I mean they had this one guy come down with a backhoe and plowed a one lane road through it. It's still got four foot walls of ice on each side. I just now got out for the first time in three days. No gas. It's pretty bad."
DOH officials said be patient. Secondary roads are now their main focus.
Officials said they are hoping to have them all open as soon as possible.
