Shoppers finished grocery shopping for holiday menus.
By Kate Krivanek
DANIELS -- Grocery store lines were just as long as those in the department stores Wednesday.
Holiday cooks hit the pavement in search of those last minute menu items. Many said it is the first time they have made it out of the house to replenish groceries since last week because of the weather. They said they are concerned about what they'll find on store shelves.
"I had a couple of last minute food items to buy for dinner with the family coming up. So hopefully I can find what I need. Because I'm sure with the weather the delivery trucks have had a difficult time," said Gayle Bowling, of Ghent.
Many grocers said they have been fortunate that most deliveries were made in time for the holidays.
