The fourth major storm of the winter blasts southern West Virginia.

GHENT --  Old man winter is not letting up on southern West Virginia. The fourth major storm of the winter season is rolling through the region.

Precipitation started around 3 a.m. Friday. Some areas experienced freezing rain topped with snow. In Ghent, three inches of snow had accumulated by 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Just 10 miles away in Beckley, rain is falling.

Emergency dispatch centers in Greenbrier and Summers counties report the most accumulation. Dispatchers in White Sulphur Springs said the area has close to six inches of snow.

Around the region, dispatchers report minor accidents.

Motorists are encouraged to drive slowly and carefully. Even roads that appear to be just wet can have slick spots.

The storm is expected to leave the area Saturday night.
